VDO lithium battery
As you know, in VDO tachograph a discharge back-up battery may affect the
operation of the tachograph itself.
VDO considers mandatory to replace the battery during the periodic inspection of tachograph.
During the first calibration, the technical center must check the date of production of
tachograph to determine the age of the battery and whether or not to replace it.
THE DURATION OF THE BATTERY INSTALLED IN TACHOGRAPH IS GUARANTEED FOR TWO YEARS
The production date of the tachograph is what must be considered to calculate the two years.
TACHOGRAPHS MADE FROM 2010
From January 2010 all VDO tachographs are fitted with an adhesive label as the one shown below.
On the tachograph and carton supply, the label indicates expiration date of the Back-Up battery
. This indication is generated by the manufacturer and includes the maximum period of duration
guaranteed of a battery installed in the tachograph.
From the same date, January 2010, replacement batteries are sold with adhesive labels
inside the box. Their use should be done during the battery change.
